Sacré Cœur Basilica of the Sacré Cœur
The basilica is located at the summit of the butte Montmartre (Montmartre butte), the highest point in the city.
The overall style of the structure shows heavy Romano-Byzantine influence.
The basilica complex includes a garden for meditation, with a fountain. The top of the dome is open to tourists and affords a spectacular panoramic view of the city of Paris, which is mostly to the south of the basilica.

Sacré Cœur Notre Dame de Paris
Gothic cathedral on the eastern half of the Île de la Cité with its main entrance to the west. A major tourist destination, it is still used as a Roman Catholic cathedral and is the seat of the Archbishop of Paris. Notre Dame de Paris is widely considered one of the finest examples of French Gothic architecture.
The two rose windows are notable for being two of the few medieval stained glass windows in the cathedral, and indeed in all of Europe, that still have their original glasswork.

The building's original purpose of Louis XIV was to create a hospital and a retirement home for war veterans. The most notable tomb at Les Invalides is that of Napoleon Bonaparte (1769-1821) in the crypt under Mansart's dome. The buildings also house the Musée de l'Armée, the military museum of the Army of France.

Sainte-Chapelle Sainte-Chapelle
On the Ile de la Cité. In the Upper Chapel, gothic architecture shows itself at its most sublime: light, color, and space join together in a conjunction of art and religion. The sainte-Chapelle owes its fame to its stained-glass windows

Conciergerie Conciergerie
The first residence of the Capetian Kings, it was transformed over the centuries into a royal residence. In 1391 the building was converted for use as a prison. Hundreds of prisoners during the French Revolution were executed on the guillotines at La Conciergerie.

The view from the dome (206 steps) is marvellous. The former Sainte-Geneviève church, has been used since the Revolution as a mausoleum of great men such as Mirabeau, Voltaire, Jean-Jacques Rousseau, Victor Hugo, Emile Zola...

Gothic church which was the parish church of the Kings of France. Magnificent examples of 15th century stained-glass. The Romanesque tower dates from the 12th century and the superb portal, the choir and the Chapelle de la Vierge from the 13th century.

Palais Garnier Palais Garnier
Built in 1860 in the classical architectural style of the Second Empire, this is one of the largest theatres in the world. It is regarded as one of the architectural masterpieces of its time. Built in Neo-baroque style on the orders of Napoleon III as part of the great Parisian reconstruction project carried out by Baron Haussmann.
