Nature Lovers 

There is no better place to discover nature's hidden treasures and secret trails than in Paris Ile-de-France. Plan your trek as you see fit and hike, cycle or canter through the heart of the region's forests and natural parks, or along the rivers and through the valleys, taking in the beautiful landscape along the way. Regional Natural Park The Natural Park of the French Vexin : located on the West of Paris, between Pontoise and La Roche-Guyon, it contains and promotes a very valuable rural heritage (country architecture, and so on).

 
 
 
 

Walks around La-Frette-sur-Seine

When you go out of the house, you can choose between different walks :

  • On the Seine’s Right Banks towards Conflans, the inland water shipping’s capital. You can visit the Museum of the Canal transport or embark for a cruise on the Seine;
  • You can cross the Seine on a boat and discover the other Seine Banks in a landscaped park (the ferry works from April to October during week-ends)
  • You can explore the net of footpathes and staircases in gardens to discover the town of La Frette from another view.
Large cycle tours are also possible.

  • The leisure centre of Cergy : a sports’centre where water sports reign with a unique in Ile-de-France water ski tow and a unique in Europe white-water course;
  • The Tennis Club of La Frette sur Seine
  • If you have interest in equestrian sports or cycling there are lots of opportunities to enjoy yourself in the forests and trails of the region.

Artistic history in La Frette

Albert Marquet He begann his series of quay views in 1905. In 1907 he made his first personal exhibition in the Galerie Druet and a few years later, he made a series of nudes in studio. Many tripps and exhibitions followed in several countries. Alain Marquet died in 1947 and he is buried in the cemeterry of La Frette, on the peak of a hill dominating the Seine.
